Less than 2 months away!

We are less than 2 months away from our big journey. We have secured good tenants for our home, verified that our home owner's insurance covers us if something happens while the tenants are in the house, and found a place for the dog to (happily) spend 3 months. We have all the plane tickets purchased, 90% of the lodging stuff sorted out, and the girls' new passports showed up recently. As an aside, I always found it ludicrous that the infant passports were valid for 5 years! The girls' eyes weren't even open when their photos were taken (they were 2 weeks old!). They look nothing like those photos. Now at least their passports clearly are them. I am realizing there is a LOT to do in order to get our house ready for a short-term rental. The kitchen drawers, for example, are "clean" for our purposes but they aren't clean for a tenant! We need to go through the kitchen drawer that currently houses the girls' socks and gloves and hats and clean that out. The shoe box by the front door needs to be emptied and cleaned out and all the coats on the coat rack need to be put elsewhere. The drawers in the bathrooms need to be emptied out and cleaned and our closet has to be emptied. Bed sheets readied. Linen closet tidied up. Laundry room cleaned out entirely (this might be the hardest thing!). Pet care instructions need to be written up. The fridge and pantry must be emptied out. And all the kid items in the living room - the stuff that adult renters don't want to spend 3 months with! - must be moved elsewhere. But we have a list and a plan! Almost there!!!
