Less than 2 months away!
We are less than 2 months away from our big journey. We have secured good tenants for our home, verified that our home owner's insurance covers us if something happens while the tenants are in the house, and found a place for the dog to (happily) spend 3 months. We have all the plane tickets purchased, 90% of the lodging stuff sorted out, and the girls' new passports showed up recently. As an aside, I always found it ludicrous that the infant passports were valid for 5 years! The girls' eyes weren't even open when their photos were taken (they were 2 weeks old!). They look nothing like those photos. Now at least their passports clearly are them. I am realizing there is a LOT to do in order to get our house ready for a short-term rental. The kitchen drawers, for example, are "clean" for our purposes but they aren't clean for a tenant! We need to go through the kitchen drawer that currently houses the girls' socks and gloves and hats and clean that out...
